Association
Genealogy is genius: the Schweizerische Vereinigung für Jüdische Genealogie (SVJG) has collected, preserved and shared Jewish family history since 1986.
About the association
Founded on the initiative of René Loeb; in its founding year, the first issue of the association journal «MAAJAN · Die Quelle» ("The Source") had already appeared.

Association archive and statutes
The association archive is held at the Archiv für Zeitgeschichte der ETH Zürich (inquiries: afz@history.gess.ethz.ch).
The statutes govern the purpose, membership, governing bodies and financing; the association is politically and religiously neutral.
The full statutes are available on request via the contact form.
Take part and support us
Membership includes receiving the yearbook. Unfortunately we have been unable to produce it since 2025 for lack of staff. For one person the work takes about half a year. The annual membership fee has therefore been reduced substantially. We would be glad if people came forward to help produce the yearbook. With several people the effort is considerably smaller. We continue, as before, to preserve and support Jewish family research and Jewish history as a whole. Please contact us at any time if you have questions.
